Meet Dr. Birch
Hello! I have been a licensed psychologist for over 15 years. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and French at Hope College (1996) in Holland, Michigan. During and after college, I had the opportunity to study abroad, in Paris and Brussels. From there, I went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where I received my Masters degree (2000) and Ph.D. (2003) in Educational Psychology. I then became a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (2004) and a Licensed Psychologist (2006) in Texas. In 2018, I moved to Georgia with my family and became a Licensed Psychologist in Georgia in 2020. I have also been certified as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist since 2004.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my three kiddos, spectating at one of their many activities. We also enjoy visiting the North Georgia mountains, watching movies, road tripping to Texas, spending time with extended family, and attending church activities. When I have a minute to myself, I love to sit outside and read, walk our dog, or go for a run. I also serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in the Athens/Oconee area.
Hello! I have been a licensed psychologist for over 15 years. I specialize in psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults with learning challenges including ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning and behavior disabilities.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and French at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. I had the wonderful opportunity to study in Paris, France, while in college, even taking classes at the Sorbonne. After graduation, I spent a year in Belgium studying psychology at L’Universite Libre de Bruxelles as a Rotary Foundation Scholar. I returned to the United States to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where I received my Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at the University of Texas (2003). I became a licensed psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology in Texas in 2006, and then moved to Georgia with my family in 2018. I received my license to practice psychology in Georgia in February 2020. I have also been certified as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist since 2004?? My experience has ranged from working with patients with spinal cord and brain injuries in a rehabilitation hospital, adolescents in a juvenile dentention facility, clients at a Christian counseling center, individuals with learning difficulties at a Scottish Rite Learning Center, and students in school settings as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP, Texas designation).
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my three kiddos spectating at one of their many sports (and other) activities, visiting the North Georgia mountains, watching movies, attending church, road tripping to Texas, and spending time with extended family. When I have a minute to myself, I love to sit outside and read, walk our dog, or go for a run. I also serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in the Athens/Oconee area.
